Unfortunately, it's a case of the author carrying on the series too long. The people of Sparks are concerned (and justifiably so, in my opinion) that the new arrivals (400+ new people, doubling the size of Sparks) are going to eat up all their food and make. Skip The Prophet of Yonwood totally, and you might want to read The Diamond of Darkhold. The people of Ember have left Ember, their underground home, and are now trying to fit in with the people of Sparks, the nearest town to the location of Ember. Ember was built as a post-apocalyptic city with enough resources for its residents to survive for about 200 years. The story follows a girl by the name of Lina Mayfleet who lives in an underground city, Ember, with her grandmother and little sister. My recommendation is that you simply must read The City of Ember and The People of Sparks. The City of Ember is a novel that was published in 2003 by Jeanne DuPrau. The Diamond of Darkhold was reasonable, but just failed to be as good as the first two. It was poor, never got going, and my opinion of the series was brought down quite a lot. It says that there’s a new delivery from Looper. In the afternoon, an odd-looking young man asks her to carry a message to Mayor Cole. In fact, they are two of my all-time favourite novels! The Prophet of Yonwood was a total disappointment. The Book of the City of Ember teaches that Ember is the only light in the dark world, but Lina still wishes that her imaginary city really existed. The City of Ember and The People of Sparks are both fantastic – moral, fascinating, and with some really thought-provoking themes, let alone they are a great adventure story. They revolve around the people who live in the city of Ember, the last known human settlement in a pitch black world. The City of Ember, The People of Sparks and The Diamond of Darkhold all take place in a post-apocalyptic world. The Diamond of Darkhold is, according to the author, the last novel in the series. It continues the story of The City of Ember and The People of Sparks. The Diamond of Darkhold is the fourth novel in the series, and was published in 2008. The third novel to be published in the series, in 2006, was The Prophet of Yonwood, which forms a prequel to the other novels in the series. The series was continued with the publication of The People of Sparks, in 2004, which continued the story of The City of Ember. The novel was very successful, and was later made into a film in 2008. The series started with The City of Ember, published in 2003. Summary Full Book Summary Some two and a half centuries after its creation, the city of Ember is in a state of crisis. ![]() The Books of Ember is a science fiction- fantasy novel series, written by Jeanne DuPrau.
